Project Overview

This project focused on upgrading the water supply system beneath a Burbank home with new PEX piping. The work replaced aging supply lines and created a more organized layout for the home’s hot and cold water distribution.

The available space beneath the home also contained existing drain and vent piping, so the new supply lines had to be routed carefully around the existing plumbing.

Reworking the Water Supply Lines

The existing water supply setup was updated with new PEX piping for the home’s hot and cold water lines.

The new red and blue lines were routed through the under-floor space and secured along the framing. Keeping the two water supplies clearly separated made the updated system easier to identify and maintain.

Adding Accessible Shut-Off Valves

New shut-off valves were incorporated into the updated water supply layout.

These valves provide convenient points for isolating sections of the plumbing when a fixture needs to be serviced or future maintenance is required.

Routing Around Existing Plumbing

A major part of the project was working within the limited space beneath the home.

Large existing drain and vent pipes occupied much of the available area. The new water lines were routed around these pipes while keeping the installation neat and accessible.

The finished layout keeps the supply lines organized without interfering with the existing drainage system.

Improving the Connections

The new PEX lines were connected to the home’s existing plumbing using appropriate fittings and connection points.

The supply lines were supported along the framing, and the connections were secured as part of the installation. The new layout also provides clearer access to key components for future plumbing work.

The Finished System

The completed work gave the home an updated water supply system with new PEX piping, clearly separated hot and cold water lines, and accessible shut-off points.

The new layout also makes the plumbing beneath the home easier to identify and maintain while working around the existing drain and vent system.

After the installation, the new lines and connections were checked for leaks and the water supply was restored.
